This extension uses Staffordshire Blue Bricks, which are a blue/grey brick that adds a bit of luxury to the look of a rear extension. This brick is becoming more commonly used in our projects, as clients are starting to steer away from the standard London Clay brick.
This brick work perfectly with the aluminium doors, skylights and windows, with all the grey colours complimenting one another, yet blending well at the same time. The extension is further complimented by the newly laid granite patio (using locally sourced polished granite slabs), Zinc roof tiles and aluminium guttering and downpipes.
Inside, the steelwork has been exposed giving off a ‘New York loft’ feel to the extension, as well as new skylights to allow for natural light to flood the room with warmth. A lot of bespoke joinery was involved in this project too – with bespoke cupboards and a new dining bench crafted out of Class A Plywood, as well as the renewal of the skirting boards.
Finally, all skirting, walls and ceilings were prepared, filled, sanded down and primed before a fresh new lick of paint.
